American Legion Post 30 Commander Winston Boddie was confirmed to serve as a trustee on the South Carolina Veterans’ Trust Fund Board (SCVTF). He appeared before the South Carolina Senate Family and Veterans’ Services Committee on April 15, 2026, as the final step in the confirmation process. Boddie was recently nominated by The American Legion Department of South Carolina with a particular eye towards representing the interest of veterans in rural areas. The SCVTF oversees state funds dedicated to supporting veterans across South Carolina. Operating under the South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs, the board reviews and approves grants for programs that benefit veterans and their families. Boddie’s nomination moved forward with support from prominent members of the Edgefield County community who support the board’s work to bring services to veterans.
